ARCHERY GB INSTRUCTOR Award (2½ days NGB entry level course)

ARCHERY GB INSTRUCTOR Award +PLUS (2½ days NGB course + ½ day extra to include our own enhanced equipment maintenance & repair modules)

ARCHERY GB INSTRUCTOR Award PREMIER+PLUS (2½ days NGB course + 1 day extra for not only our own enhanced equipment maintenance & repair modules but also multi-task & safety modules we feel is the "Full Monty"!)

These 3 courses give you a learning experience that provides ALL you need to become an 'expert' safe archery teacher.                                However,  our 3 levels of Instructor courses provide content, as follows:

COURSE CONTENT

The ARCHERY GB INSTRUCTOR Award NGB course covering the following:

- shooting arrows
- delivering mini-sessions
- selecting appropriate equipment
- setting up a range
- designing games

This is the "official" NGB entry level training course preparing learners to deliver safe sessions for beginners that are fun - ideal for seasonal and part-time activity staff.

However, for those requiring a more comprehensive training programme similar to the old Award scheme, we also offer our own ARCHERY LEADERS half-day & one-day courses of additional modules, as follows:

ARCHERY GB INSTRUCTOR Award +PLUS course that covers the NGB entry level training but also includes the following extras:

- equipment maintenance and repair skills practice
- plus a more in-depth safety check process

ARCHERY GB INSTRUCTOR Award PREMIER+PLUS course that covers the NGB entry level training but also includes the following additional extras:

- equipment maintenance and repair skills practice
- a more in-depth safety check process
- Risk Assessment & Management
- alternative range layouts
- purchasing appropriate equipment for Activity Centres/Groups
- understanding equipment selection needs for different ages, gender and disabilities

Consequently, ARCHERY LEADERS hope these 3 choices suit all activity businesses' and individuals' training needs, that totally satisfies their client base, be it for youngsters, adults or people with varying (dis)abilities.

No Previous Archery Experience Necessary.  Anyone over 17 is eligible.

And NOW for 2017, ANOTHER NEW COURSE, JUST FOR TEACHERS;

the ARCHERY GB TEACHERS AWARD, run primarily in school premises over 2 days and just for QTS staff.

No technical stuff, just learning to shoot & deliver archery teaching to young people.  Also included is:

  • equipment repair
  • archery within the curriculum
  • planing successive engaging archery sessions
  • setting up a safe range
  • competitive & fun games

A practical based course with some reflective classroom work & assessment. 

Certification is awarded following a continuous assessment process of practical tasks and completion of a reflection & assessment tasks workbook, with no summative assessment at the course end.

Enquiries accepted now for AGB Teachers Award booking May 2017 onwards ~  minimum of 8 & maximum 12 learners per course permitted.
